Here are a few things to bring to be sure kitty has a happy and stress free sleep over:

  • It is absolutely mandatory that all dishes, litter boxes and scoopers be clean - that means sanitized, not just tapped out and rinsed. At check-out used litter will be sifted and bagged, litter boxes will be sanitized again.
  • Bring an ample amount of clean, unused and unscented litter and enough food to last longer than your expected stay. Covid taught us all that we never know what might happen. All left over food and litter will be returned to you.
  • If kitty has a favourite blanket or toy, bring it. Also a pillow case you’ve slept on all week (and smells like you) is a super important comfort item. Treats too.

Located in Telkwa, Just 20 minutes south of Smithers, a "cats only" boarding facility offers a much needed service to our small community and the nearby towns of Houston, Smithers, Thornhill, Hazelton and Topely, to name a few. We're a little ways out there, but worth the extra miles.

After serving Campbell River, on Vancouver Island, for seven years, the internet is full of wonderful reviews and articles about us. We've been on CBC and, did an episode on Chek News "The Up Side" with Ed Bains and Jeff King. Filmed from inside the cat hotel it was a lot of fun!

Open 24/7, Kalmar is the place for even the most devoted cat people who want only the best for their feline children. It is comforting to know you can call us anytime of the day or night when an emergency demands you to leave home immediately. We also offer pick up and delivery in certain circumstances for an agreed upon price (usually around $25 to $50 depending on distance and weather conditions.)

Kalmar Cat Hotel offers aroma therapy as well as constant air circulation and purification. To alleviate check-in jitters we use vet recommended "Feli-away".
